Rev. Walter Fauntroy at “Empowerment '68-'08” Studies Conference
History lessons were never like this in school. The Historical Society of Washington's Washington Studies Conference kicked off at the Carnegie last night. A dazzling opening reception served as a fitting prelude to the evening's powerhouse speaker (and singer) and Washington native son, Rev. Walter Fauntroy. Voting rights, civil rights, property rights, and enjoying the freedom to burst out in song if the spirit hits you were all part of the good Reverend's presentation.
