The Shaw House Tour
Shaw has been home to a diverse mix of residents, businesses and institutions since the neighborhood first developed in the years during and following the Civil War. It has been the center of artistic activity in the City for a century and now provides a rich cultural mix for those who live and work here.
This gallery represents highlights from the official Tour which offered a rare glimpse at a wide variety of uses, original and adaptive, which historic buildings and spaces in our community currently serve. From the school that gave the area it’s name, to the ultra chic homes of an architect, a landscape designer and a neon artist, to a residence for single women — the Tour offers a dramatic view of one of the City’s most beautiful destinations.
